Nothing gives men any spiritual value or usefulness to God except becoming new creatures. No one makes us new creatures except God. He makes us new creatures that are what He wants us to be doing what He wants us to do. Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.The old creatures were unacceptable to Him and doing things that were unacceptable to Him. The new creatures ARE acceptable to Him doing what IS acceptable to Him. Ephesians 1:6: To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
The new creatures have Christ in their hearts, they are in Christ and in the body of Christ. In becoming new creatures they come under His preeminence. Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . . 1 Corinthians 12:27: Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.Colossians 1:18: And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. The new creatures are the children of God. Ephesians 5:1: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
Men become God*s children and all these blessings begin when they receive Jesus. John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:For the blessed new creatures a struggle begins within them between the earthen vessels that they are and the treasure within them. 2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The new creature*s flesh fights the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit fights the flesh. Galatians 5:17: For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.The new creatures CAN accomplish God*s will with His help. He is more powerful than their flesh and more powerful than Satan. Galatians 5:16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.1 John 4:4: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Sometimes the new creatures will lose a battle but they win the war. 1 John 5:4: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. |
